Can your oils be taken internally?
YES -- Many essential oils can be taken internally, when directed by qualified professionals - if they are truly 100% pure(which our oils are) with nothing added or altered. Because of our Western Medicine indoctrination, many of us here in the United States do not realize that we do not need to take essential oils internally. Unlike pills or prescription drugs, essential oils can do great benefits just by rubbing them onto the skin. As a matter of fact one of the best methods to use essential oils is by massaging them directly onto the bottom of the feet.
Now if you are going to take essential
oils internally you will want to make sure you never ingest these three oils
(which we carry): Birch, Eucalyptus
globules and Wintergreen. These oils
contain harmful chemical properties that if taken internally can do great harm
or even kill in small amounts.
All the other essential oils
that we sell and use in smaller amounts are considered, but remember to use safety
when working with Nature's pharmacy.
Naturally if a person was to drink a couple of gallons of tea tree oil
there is a high chance that it would be fatal to the average person. Then again, if you were to eat one pound of
salt you might die. Even water,
something we should be drinking a lot of each day, can kill if we ingest too
much of it at one time.
Another safety issue when using essential oils on the skin is sensitivity. Because of the complex chemical nature of essential oils, some people are highly sensitive. If an oil starts to burn or cause the skin to rash, please apply a carrier oil (vegetable oil) to that area. (The two carrier oils that we carry are Organic Jojoba and Organically Grown Fractionated Coconut Oil.) If you are unfamiliar with how a specific essential oil will react on your body, please use caution and dilute at least three drops of carrier oil to one drop of pure essential oil. If the oil starts to burn or cause the skin to rash, apply more carrier oil. Example: Pure cinnamon oil does not burn my arm while it causes my wife and almost everyone else to get a very bad heat rash or even burn blisters. This oil should always be used with caution. Now with Oregano my wife can put a drop of the oil in her water and drink it without batting an eye, whereas when I take it internally it really makes burn and sweat.
Always remember to use essential oils with caution and with the care of a qualified professional.
