Juniper Berry is a strong, natural diuretic. It is excellent when used in lymphatic massage. Because of its antiseptic properties, it is one of the top oils used to treat urinary infections and other bladder problems.

Because of its strong antiseptic and astringent properties, it is an excellent oil to use when cleaning up germs. It is especially good for keeping clean during epidemics and other contagious disease.

In small amounts, it is excellent for skin care. It helps treat dermatitis, psoriasis, skin ulcers, oily complexion, and acne. It helps tone the skin.

Juniper Berry helps treat infections, as well as most respiratory issues.

It is often used to help alleviate anxiety, stress, and nervous tension. It helps  clear mental clutter and confusion.

Due to its stimulating nature, it is good to use when treating bruises, arthritis, and rheumatism.


It can help regulate the menstrual cycle, and helps eliminate menstrual cramps.

History: The berries, needles, and branches of the tree have been burned in many parts of the world to fight the spread of plagues. The Romans ate the berries to help their digestion, as well as to treat many infections. Native American Indians used the tree as a source of food as well as medicine. The berries are used to make gin.

Blends well with: Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Galbanum, Elemi, Cypress, Clary Sage, Pine, Lavender, Fir Needle, Rosemary, Geranium, Petitgrain Bigarade, and citrus oils.


Ways to use: You will need to blend with a carrier oil before using topically. A general guideline is 4-8 drops in  ½ teaspoon of carrier oil for adult topical use. Once you have tried it, you will know if you need to blend more or less. A general guideline for blend rates for children can be found here:

Always test on a nickel sized portion of skin first. Make sure your skin can handle the oil/blend before using. 


Put a drop on acne. Diffuse a couple of drops to boost appetite.

Massage a drop with a carrier oil into bottom of feet to help reduce edema.

Mix with Bergamot FCF and FCO and add to a bath to combat urinary infections.

To stimulate your brain and keep you working well, diffuse equal parts Juniper Berry and Rosemary.


Hangover Remedy

          • 1 drop Juniper Berry
          • 3 drops Lavender
          • 2 drop Rosemary
          • 1 tablespoon FCO
          • ½ cup Sea Salts

Mix together the oils and dissolve into sea salts. Add to a warm/hot bath and soak for 30 minutes.


Balance Irregular Menstrual Periods

          • 1 drop Juniper Berry
          • 2 drops Vitex Berry
          • 3 drops Clary Sage
          • 2 drops Lavender
          • 1 tablespoon Jojoba

Massage formula into abdomen using slow, clockwise, gentle strokes every evening.
