Lavender is the oil that can be used for nearly everything and can be blended with nearly every oil.

Top uses are balancing and regulating body functions, insomnia relief, treating burns, and normalizing emotions.

It is excellent when treating skin conditions like acne, and dermatitis/eczema. One of the top oils for treating sunburn and other burns. It helps minimize scarring and stretch marks. Is safe enough to treat diaper rash in babies.

One of the top oils to treat insomnia. Brings deep relaxation. Works great for meditation as well.

Because of its calming and relaxing nature, Lavender will help you treat many heart and muscle issues, including bruises. Will help you treat tachycardia, phlebitis, and high blood pressure. It relaxes tight muscles and helps treat muscular aches and pains. Reduces inflammation and lessons pain and helps treat muscular cramps, especially abdominal cramps. Can be used to treat sciatica, arthritis and rheumatism.

History: Lavender has been consistently used for centuries. Unlike so many different herbs and oils, it never fell out of favor. The name comes from the Latin “Lavare” which means “to wash.” It has been most commonly used in laundry, baths, and cleaning out wounds.

Also, it is well known that René-Maurice Gattefossé learned of Lavender’s healing properties the day he burned himself in his lab and doused the burn in Lavender oil. This experience also led to Gattefosse coining the term “Aromathérapie.”

Blends well with: Most oils. Cedarwood, Clove Bud, Clary Sage, Pine, Pine Needles, Geranium, Vetiver, Patchouli, citrus, and floral oils.


Ways to useYou will need to blend with a carrier oil before using topically. A general guideline is 4-8 drops in ½ teaspoon of carrier oil for adult topical use. Once you have tried it, you will know if you need to blend more or less. A general guideline for blend rates for children can be found here:

Always test on a nickel sized portion of skin first. Make sure your skin can handle the oil/blend before using. 

 

Put a drop on your pillowcase at night to help you sleep. To relieve insomnia, vaporize 4 drops Lavender and 2 drops Orange. Massage a few drops into spine to balance emotions.

Relieve painful swelling by making a cold compress with 4 drops Lavender and 2 drops Yarrow.

May increase cell growth (apply to wound or before having an operation to area going to be operated on, may assist the skin to heal and rejuvenate).


Exotic Breezes Perfume

          •  3 drops Sandalwood
          •  1 drop Cardamom
          •  2 drops Cedarwood
          •  2 drops Lavender
          •  2 drops Ylang Ylang

Mix formula together and use just one drop on your pulse points. Scent will last a long time.


Hand Massage

          •  6 drops Lavender
          •  4 drops Nutmeg
          •  3 drops Basil
          •  3 drops Lemon
          •  2 drops Juniper Berry
          •  1 drop Cinnamon Bark
          •  2 tablespoons FCO

Massage formula into both hands, from fingertips to the shoulders.
