While the uses are many and varied, the top two uses for Rocky Mountain Oils' Peppermint oil are for opening the respiratory system and for treating headaches.  

Because of the menthol constituent, it helps you treat throat infections, and colds and flu. It is particularly good for treating asthma, bronchitis, and sinusitis.

Is often used for stimulating and strengthening circulation.

Due to its cooling nature, Rocky Mountain Oils' Peppermint helps reduce fever and can help lesson the burn in sunburns. Also helps take down inflammation and swelling, as well as helping treat cramping, varicose veins, and arthritis.

History: All of the mints are closely related, which is why there are so many varieties of mint, as they combine easily. In fact, Peppermint is now classified as a hybrid. It is the child of Spearmint breeding with Watermint. It was propagated before the 17th century in England but is now cultivated worldwide. Wide use in personal hygiene products including aftershave and toothpaste.

Ways to use:  You will need to blend with a carrier oil before using topically. A general guideline is 4-8 drops in ½ teaspoon of carrier oil for adult topical use. Once you have tried it, you will know if you need to blend more or less. A general guideline for blend rates for children can be found here:

A poultice to cool off a sunburn, 2-3 drops Rocky Mountain Oils' Peppermint added to 1/4 cup Honey. To reduce pain of sprains or strain, use a cold compress with 2 drops Peppermint and 2 drops Yarrow.

For a soothing hand bath, add 1 drop Peppermint, 4 drops Lavender, and 1 teaspoon FCO to a bowl of warm water. Immerse hands for 5 minutes.

Add a couple of drops to your dishwasher to help purify and disinfect.

Rocky Mountain Oils' Peppermint works great in a diffuser for any sort of respiratory issues. It can be combined with any of the citrus ones as well.

Can add 1-2 drops to chocolate icing before icing a cake, to add an extra bit of fun.

Inflammation Soother

          • 10 drops Roman Chamomile
          • 4 drops Eucalyptus Radiata
          • 4 drops Lavender
          • 7 drops Peppermint
          • 5 drops Rosemary
          • 2 tablespoons FCO

Mix all together. Massage into affected areas as needed.

Morning Wake-Up Shower Rinse

          • 2 cups Sparkling Mineral Water or Seltzer Water
          • 2 drops Peppermint
          • 1 drop Eucalyptus Citriodora
          • Juice of one Lemon

Mix all together into a bowl. While in shower after you have washed yourself all over but before the final rinse, sponge this mixture all over your body from head to toe, including hair. Rinse off with tepid water, not too hot, and pat your skin dry. Follow with a moisturizer if needed.
