No more DEET for us-
Rub it on the bottom of your feet, wait a couple of minutes, you are good to go- easily dispersed thruout your body. Bugs go the other direction - lasts for hours, even in the evening-

You need to spray it EVERYWHERE really well, but it does work if you spray every inch of yourself. I bought this one because my son is asthmatic and Bug Away has an oil that can upset asthmatics.

Definite must have
Like the smell. Made into bug spray using RMO recipe. Spray it on my legs and feet before I take my dogs out in the morning and suddenly no more bug bites!

Works great outdoors
I just rub a couple of drops straight from the bottle onto my exposed skin to stop insect bites while I am outside. Thank goodness I don't have any indoors!!

Bug away
I purchased this product to help with an active 2 yr old and the enjoyment we have in the backyard. It has taken a bit of experimentation to get the drops to liquid ratio, cautious since is a 2 yo. Does need to be reapplied every 2-3 hrs. Smells better than the leading bug repellent's. :)

We have lots of mosquitos and I don't like putting on commercial repellant-it irritates my skin and I feel like it is dangerous for my health. So I hope this oil works

What is the difference between Bug Off and Bug Away Neat?
Whitney H on Jun 15, 2017
Bug Away Neat
Bug Away Neat
Bug Off!
Bug Off!
BEST ANSWER: The difference is in the ingredients. Bug Off! is meant to be used topically on adults and contains Citronella, Cedarwood, Lavender, Peppermint, Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus citriodora, Thyme, and Lemongrass.

Bug Away neat is the undiluted version of our Kids Line Roll On that is pre diluted for children 2 years +. Bug Away contains Citronella, Cedarwood Atlas, Lavender, Lemongrass, Thyme.
Can you use Bug Off! on kids? Which would be best to use on both children and adults? And is one more effective than the other?
Miriam on Jul 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Bug Away Neat needs to be diluted to use. I think you could use it on children, maybe just dilute a bit more. However, if you are concerned, consider purchasing Bug Away in a roller. It is already diluted and with a roller top is very easy to use. I use it myself, and have found it very good, even here in the marshes of Florida. When finished you can reuse the bottle with your diluted Bug Away Neat. Happy learning about oils for better health.
How do you recommend making this into a spray? For room sprays I use water and 1 Tbsp alcohol. I want to spray this on my skin and use it on my kids (2 &4) as well.
Julie on Jun 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We do have a great recipe on our Blog that you may find helpful. https://www.rockymountainoils.com/learn/bugs-away/
What makes this blend neat?
A shopper on Jun 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: What makes this neat is that it needs to be diluted. If one orders a whiskey, or bourbon, 'neat' it means with no ice or water (or maybe on the side). I used to be a waitress, so immediately knew what 'neat' meant, but can see how it might be confusing otherwise. No dilution, you dilute yourself with a carrier oil such as coconut oil.
I ordered & received your product "Bug Off". It does not come with instructions on how to us it. What do you recommend?
Pam Z on May 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We would recommend checking out the product page as well as our Blog for usage tips.

Can this be applied without carrier oil?
A shopper on Jun 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We always recommend to dilute any essential oils or blends with a carrier oil before topical application. Please visit our Dilution Chart for tips! https://www.rockymountainoils.com/dilution-rate
What can I use for ants?

BEST ANSWER: We have had great feedback about using Cinnamon Bark:https://www.rockymountainoils.com/cinnamon-bark.html
After mixing a DIY bug repellent, approximately how long will it keep the bugs off my children. How often do I need to reapply? Thank you.
A shopper on Jun 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Feel free to use and reapply as needed!
