Recipes

Here are a few recipes involving Lemon oil. To check for more, you can click on Lemon in the tagged section at the end of the article. That will show you all articles mentioning it. As they are interchangeable, also look up recipes with Lime oil and substitute Lemon. *Please note: With any recipe's involving bath or massage blends, always test on a small part of your skin first before using all over your body. Please be sure your skin can handle the blend before being covered in it.

Breathe Easy Bath Mix

As you prepare your bath, close the window and door to prevent oil vapors from escaping. Fill the bathtub with warm/hot water. To soften your skin and remove impurities, dissolve 1 cup of epsom salt in the bath water. Then dilute the essential oils in the F.C.O. Pour blend into water. Swirl the water to disperse the oil evenly. Enter the bath immediately, since essential oils evaporate quickly. Relax and enjoy the bath for at least 30 minutes.

Nail Rescue

  • 3 drops Lemon
  • 3 tablespoons F.C.O.
  • 1 tablespoon Beeswax

Heat the beeswax in a small glass bowl over a pan of simmering water. When runny, add the Lemon oil and stir thoroughly. Add the F.C.O. a little at a time, stirring constantly. (As the beeswax cools, it will become solid but pliable. If it is too hard, heat again and add more F.C.O., a drop at a time.) Apply the wax to the fingers and nails as a treatment once a week for maintenance.

Floral Scent Potpourri

Gather dried leaves, flowers and small wood shavings. Crush these plant materials to the desired size. Place 1/2 cup of plant material in a wide mouthed glass jar and add essential oil formula. Stir the contents well and tighten the lid on the jar. Let the potpourri sit for several days to allow the aroma molecules to be absorbed by the plant material.

Citrus Scent Body Powder

Measure the corn starch and pour into a wide mouthed glass jar with a lid or a small spice powder container; then add the essential oils. Tighten cap and let the body powder sit for a day. Shake well before using.
