Check below for some quick ways to use your favorite summer scents in your everyday activities for fun, laid-back, and happy summer experience.

Essential Oils for the Season: Summer

Lemon

With such a clean, sweet, and citrusy scent, it’s no wonder that Lemon oil has often been referred to as “liquid sunshine.” For a fun summer hack, create your own fruit and vegetable wash for your garden harvest by combining:

  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Baking Soda
  • 10 drops Lemon

Wash your produce in the mixture, and rinse thoroughly before eating or storing away for later use!

Rosemary

If your summer plans include lacing up your hiking boots or setting up camp out in the great wide open, then Rosemary’s woody, herbaceous, and balsamic aroma is bound to be your new summer companion. Keep pesky bugs like fleas, flies, and mosquitoes at bay by diluting Rosemary with a carrier oil and applying it to the skin before your next adventure.

Grapefruit

For us, summer just isn’t complete without the crisp, bright, and citrusy scent of Grapefruit. Keep the good times rolling by removing musty odors with this easy Grapefruit Spray that you can use on old patio furniture, camping gear, and even inside the home!

  • 4oz Distilled Water (½ cup)
  • 40 drops Grapefruit
  • 4 oz Amber Spray Bottle

Peppermint

The days are longer and the temperatures are rising. Find time to chill out with Peppermint’s minty, sharp, and invigorating scent. Simply dampen a hand towel with water and add 6 drops of Peppermint oil to one side of the towel. Roll up the towel, and freeze it for 20 minutes. Remove and place it on overheated skin for cooling relief.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass offers a fresh, grassy, and earthy scent that is perfect for the summer season. Carry the smell of summertime with you throughout your day by infusing your laundry soap with 2-3 drops of Lemongrass essential oil during the normal wash cycle. Then hang your load out to dry in the warm summer sun.
