I have read that you need an emulsifier or something to add to oils and water(since they don’t mix) when you put them in a spray. Als, what about bacteria growth ?

Hi Patricia! It’s true that essential oils and water do not mix, which is why we suggest shaking each of our room sprays well before each use. Emulsifiers can absolutely be used in any DIY sprays you create to better incorporate the oils and water mixture, but if you are looking for a quick DIY room spray, shaking well before each use will work well enough to make your room smell great.
We also recommend creating small batches of DIY room mists and sprays, such as this 4oz one, and replacing as-needed to limit the possibility of bacterial growth. If you would like to create larger batches and keep them on-hand, we would recommend using Witch Hazel or Ethanol (drinking alcohol) combined with water.
