Spearmint Essential Oil Uses

Spearmint oil (Mentha spicata) has a lighter, brighter scent to it than Peppermint. It is gentler, but they can be interchanged.

Combines Well With

Peppermint, Lavender, Orange, Lemon, Lime, Tangerine, Jasmine, Eucalyptus, Basil, Rosemary

Points of Interest

  • Can be a mild irritant or sensitizer so avoid in baths or massage if you have sensitive or allergy-prone skin.
  • Soothes and calms temporary feelings of frustration.
  • Brings inner tranquility.
  • Encourages new ideas and inner clarity.
  • Repels insects.

Ways to Use It

  • To help support a restful night, diffuse or vaporize 3 drops Spearmint and 3 drops Lemon beside your bed every night.
  • You can also interchange it with Peppermint. Check the recipes listed on the Peppermint article for more fun. You can use whichever of the two has the scent you want the most in the blend.

Mainly you should inhale the scent and see how it makes you feel. That's a great way to get started. And have fun with it!
