We always recommend diluting essential oils with a carrier oil like Apricot Oil when applied topically on the skin.  Benefits of safe dilution include:

  • Increased absorption into the skin

Essential oils are highly volatile substances.  If applied directly to the skin, a portion of the oil will not be absorbed due to evaporation.  Carrier oils prevent essential oils from evaporating while on the skin, which maximizes absorption time.

  • Prevention of skin irritation or sensitivity to the Essential Oil

Depending on your skin sensitivity, you may experience skin irritation when applying essential oils topically.  Proper dilution reduces the likelihood of skin irritation when an oil is used topically.  Continued use of an essential oil that has not been diluted properly can lead to a developed sensitivity to the oil.  Even if an oil is not causing a reaction when applied undiluted, irreversible damage may occur through repeated exposure.

  • Maximizes the effectiveness of the Essential Oil

Essential oils are so pure and potent, they are intended to be diluted.  Contrary to popular belief, using an oil undiluted does not necessarily mean you will receive better results.  Unless you are using an undiluted oil under the supervision of a trained professional, you will receive maximum benefits from an oil if it is diluted appropriately.  You will also get more applications out of one bottle if you dilute the essential oil when applying topically.

Great makeup remover and good for my dry skin.
I use this carrier oil mainly as a makeup remover.
. It's very gentle and the only oil so far that doesn't sting when taking off my eye makeup. I find it works better than coconut or jojoba oil which tend to be too thin of a consistency and rougher on my skin. It's also a great oil to use as a base in blends, very hydrating for my dry skin. I'm on my second bottle and love it!

Love, love, love this oil! It's so smooth, absorbs really well, and is not greasy. I use this in several of my skin care products.

I like the consistency of this more than fractionated coconut oil. It is a bit thicker and so it doesn't splash out of the bottle like the other does. I find it absorbed well and is great as a body lotion with a few drops of essential oil.

What is the expiration date of the Apricot oil under the Clearance Sale?
Rezza C on Mar 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Great question! Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) and Jojoba oil have no expiration. Almond, Apricot, Avocado oils maintain their potency for 1-2 years (if stored in a cool dry place) while Grapeseed maintains its potency for 9-12 months (if stored in a cool dry place).
