Lavandula x intermedia cv. Grosso | Essential Oil
Availability: In Stock
1 x Lavandin - 4oz   +$0.00
Lavandin Essential Oil offers a very classic floral and fresh aroma. Created in the early 1920’s, this essential oil is known as a hybrid of the traditional Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) varieties. Also known as Lavandin “Grosso”, Lavandin produces a much larger yield of essential oil compared to the traditional Lavandula angustifolia. Because of its high availability, it is more commonly used in personal recipes.

We have included Lavandin Essential Oil in the Rocky Mountain Oils Cleaning Collection. This essential oil is perfect for use in diffusion, DIY recipes, aromatherapy or aromatic purposes; and can be used to support a healthy respiratory system as well.

A nice natural way to freshen laundry!
I use this to freshen my laundry by putting a few drops into the washer after I’ve loaded the clothes ( I only use I scented detergent). I think for the amount, the price is good, it will last a long time. I’ve used other RMO oils and I think they are high quality at a much better price than the MLMs.

Laundry LOOOVE!
I absolutely LOVE Lavadin. I use it on my wool dryer balls for laundry scent instead of harsh dryer sheets. I absolutely love this scent very reminiscent of lavender.

Wonderful aroma....
As most of Rocky Mountain oils, this Lavandin is a burst of wonderful aroma! I expected it to be nice but was totally amazed at just how WONDERFUL an aroma it is. I would highly recommend this oil...... it's really great! You won't be disappointed!

It smells good. I add it to the wool dryer balls but was hoping it would make my clothes smell better. Maybe I need to add more to the dryer balls?

Didn't do much for my laundry
I bought this with the hopes it would last a little longer than the tiny 5ml bottle of Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia). I also wanted to try this on my dryer balls to make my clothes smell a little of fresh lavender.

The latter was a fail. The bottle says to use 2-3 drops of EO to each wool dryer ball. So this is what I did the first time. Nothing. No smell or anything on my laundry.

I tried again with another load of laundry, towels this time, and added 4-5 drops per ball. Still nothing. No smell at all on my laundry. Not even a hint!

Not only that, the bottle says to re-scent wool dryer balls every 4-5 loads. After ONE load, my dryer balls smelled of nothing. No lavandin smell left over for another load of laundry! So I would have to use, what, 7-9 drops on EACH ball for EACH load in order to get even a hint of lavandin smell on my laundry? Going back to my original reason for buying this larger bottle - this would defeat the purpose as I would go through this bottle in no time!

I have since scratched the idea of using this on my dryer balls and now just use it for diffusing and making other blend and DIY recipes.

A note to newbies (like me lol): This lavandin smells a bit different than the other smaller lavender bottles, such as the lavendula angustifolia and the lavender Greece roll-on. I much prefer the Angustifolia better.

Just ok
I use lavender daily. After seeing the reviews I thought I’d try this. For a diffuser I can barely smell, even using more than normal. Better if using fin a spray/ rub

What is the shelf life of lavandin essential oil?
A shopper on Nov 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Excellent question! Our oils do not have an expiration date. Essential oils do not “go bad” in that they become rancid, but their therapeutic properties can lose potency. If kept in a cool (room temperature or cooler), dark place with the cap tightly sealed, all oils should maintain their therapeutic potency for about 3-8 years. However, citrus oils have a shorter time frame of 1-3 years. Some oils, such as Patchouli, Vetiver and Blue Tansy actually increase in potency.

Is it better to use lavender over lavandin for itches or would they work similarly?

Lavender Essential Oil - OLD
Lavender Essential Oil - OLD

Our Lavender Essential Oils both carry similar therapeutic properties and can be used for multiple purposes. The oils that we have available are based on personal preference. The Lavandin Essential Oil was introduced during the promotion of our Wool Dryer Balls.

I’ve used lavender for cleaning recipes in the past. But do you recommend lavandin instead? Seems more economical.
Sarah D on Jan 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Great question! Lavandin is an excellent oil with wonderful cleaning properties.
Thanks! -RMO Team
Where is the lavandin sourced from? Most oils say on the bottle, but I don't see that information in the pictures. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: Our Lavandin is sourced from France. Thanks!-RMO Team
