Calming is expertly blended with a variety of oils that are well-known for their natural calming effects. As a result, Calming provides a soothing effect that promotes feelings of peace, joy, harmony, and gratitude. Calming's uplifting effects can also diminish feelings of anxiety, stress, tension, or depression.

With its incredible relaxing effects, Calming is a great choice for those who suffer from insomnia or have trouble sleeping. Calming can ease physical tension while calming the mind and relieving worries, thus allowing you to more easily fall and stay asleep.

Calming is composed of Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Orange, Blue Tansy, and Patchouli essential oils. It offers a light, fruity, aroma with calming undertones.

Caution: This blend contains Blue Tansy, which has a thick, ink-like viscosity. Blue Tansy has a very strong blue color and can potentially stain clothes, porous material, and skin.

Calming contains pure Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Orange , Blue Tansy, and Patchouli essential oils.

Tips:
  • Diffuse for 30 minutes before bed, or dilute and apply topically on the wrists and behind the ears to promote deep peace and relaxation.
  • Diffuse during the day to reduce feelings of stress, and to soothe tense situations.

Calming Mist Spray Recipe
  • 75 drops Calming
  • 4 ounces Distilled Water

Add both ingredients to a 4-ounce fine mist spray bottle. Shake well before each use. Liberally spritz the room as often as needed. You can refill the bottle with water 2-3 times before you need to refill the oil.

Calming Bath Recipe

  • 2-3 drops Calming
  • 2 teaspoons FCO (Fractionated Coconut Oil)
  • 1 cup Sea Salts

Combine Calming and FCO in a small container. Add the sea salts to the oil mixture, and stir to combine. Pour the oil-infused salts into a warm or hot bath, and let the salts dissolve. Soak for 20-30 minutes. Be sure to do a patch test on your skin to make sure you do not have any negative reactions before getting into the bath.

WARNING: This blend contains Blue Tansy. Blue Tansy has a thick, ink-like viscosity. The oil has a very strong blue color and can potentially stain clothes, porous material, and skin.

Kids Safety: Safe to use on children ages 2 years and older. Dilute to a .5-1% dilution rate before applying topically on children.

Noticeable notch down in my “state of nerves”. No question about it. I often pair it with Balance.

I tried this blend for the first time. I was hoping it would be similar to YL's Peace & Calming blend, and it is! It's wonderful. It is great quality, and it's at a better price point than the competitor. Will definitely be purchasing this from now on.

This is our 2nd time to purchase as we liked it so much. At first the Blue Tansy was rather overwhelming and my preschooler doesn’t care for it however my husband and I use a drop on our pillows about every other night. It will stain but to me it’s worth it for a restful sleep!

Smells nice when diffused
I wasn’t a fan of the scent when I smelled the bottle, but it smells a lot like Tranquility when diffused, which I like.

Should my calming oil be blue/green?
A shopper on Mar 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is perfectly normal for the Calming to be blue/green due to the Blue Tansy that is in the ingredients.
Blue Tansy is blue because of the Chamazulene content, it has a gorgeous deep blue color that forms when the flowering tops of the plant are distilled.

Thanks!

Can I mix calming and immune strength for night in my dyfuser?
Tracy T on May 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Feel free to mix any oils in the diffuser! The general guideline is to stick to 5-10 drops of essential oil per 100 ml's of water in the diffuser.
Is Calming safe for kids?
A shopper on Oct 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's safe for kids 2 and up with proper dilution if applied topically. Here's a link to our dilution chart: https://www.rockymountainoils.com/dilution-rate/

what does it mean someone said it was pre-diluted?
JEM62 on Dec 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Good question! Pre-diluted means that the oil is in a base of FCO. However calming is neat as it does not contain Fractionated Coconut Oil.

Can I apply the calming blend with a carrier oil directly to my neck, shoulder and feet? If so, how many drops please?
Ana S on Sep 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Great questions! You can apply the Calming blend with any carrier oil to those areas. The recommended starting ratio for adults is about 1-3 drops of essential oil to 1/2 tsp of carrier oil. For more information on dilution rates, check out the link below!

I loved the Calm blend when the company was still Native American Oils. I used it almost daily. When the company changed to RMO, this oil blend changed. It is now more green than blue, and I no longer like the smell at all. Where can I find the ingredient list for the original blend?
Bethany S on Apr 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the review! There was a time when we did not have Blue Tansy available. During that time we substituted Blue Tansy for a German/Roman Chamomile mix. This was listed on the bottles that were blended with this. Calming is currently being sold as the original blend with Blue Tansy. We hope you'll be able to enjoy some of our other oils in the future. Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions on aroma or would like some suggestions.

Is this safe around dogs?
A shopper on Mar 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello!

At this time, we have found insufficient research about using essential oils on or around domestic animals, including procedures and possible reactions. Because of this lack of research, we are unable to advise how to use essential oils with pets.

For more information, we are happy to suggest some great books! Please see below:

My 2 year old swallowed some? What do I do?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello!

It is always suggested to keep children away from essential oils as they are extremely potent. The ingredients for the Calming essential oil are safe to use around children between the ages of 2-5 years, however, ingestion should not be done without consulting with a trusted professional. We would suggest speaking to an aromatherapist or a trusted health professional for more information.

Thanks!

I have the tranquility roll on and love the scent except for citronella. Would I like calming better since it doesn't have citronella? Calming also does not contain orange and lavender.
Linda S on Feb 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Tranquility is more popular out of the two due to it's smell. While the Calming does not have the Citronella, it does contain much more Blue Tansy, making this scent much more potent in the blend.
