Eucalyptus globulus Essential Oil (Eucalyptus globulus) is also commonly known as Gum Tree, Blue-Gum, and Tasmanian Blue Gum. Eucalyptus globulus Essential Oil has a strong fresh, clean, and slightly woody aroma presenting a top fragrance note.

The most commonly used variety of Eucalyptus oil, we added Eucalyptus globulus Essential Oil to the Rocky Mountain Oils Wellness collection for its wellness-promoting properties. The essential oil’s sharp, fresh scent helps center and focus emotions and concentration.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil Varieties

Eucalyptus citriodora, globulus, and radiata are similar in properties. However, they all have a scent variation

  • Eucalyptus citriodora’s aroma is strong, fresh, citronella-like, sweet, and balsamic. The aroma is significantly different from Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus radiata as ithas stronger medicinal and lemon-like notes. Eucalyptus citriodora is calming to the nervous and respiratory systems.
  • Eucalyptus globulus’ aroma is strong, fresh, clean, medicinal, and slightly woody. Eucalyptus globulus typically has the highest level of 1,8-cineole between the three.
  • Eucalyptus radiata’s aroma is similar to Eucalyptus globulus being fresh, clean, medicinal, and slightly woody with additional sweet and fruity notes making the scent a bit softer. Eucalyptus radiata is considered the most therapeutic of the three varieties.

All three varieties should not be used with children. Consider Myrtle as a safer alternative.

Head Lice

Add formula to a dark colored glass bottle and shake well before every use. Apply to wet hair by massaging well into scalp to reach hair roots. Pay particular attention to around the ears and the nape of the neck where the lice breed. Leave on for at least one hour then shampoo thoroughly. Remove the eggs with a regulation fine-tooth comb. Repeat at least twice more at three-day intervals to ensure the infestation is completely cleared.

My favorite oil!
Eucalyptus smells amazing, however, the eucalyptus globulus is my favorite of them! It's the only eucalyptus I like alone and also blended. The others I feel need to be with a secondary oil. I diffuse the globulus alone or with lime and it is fantastic! Highly recommend!

Love it. Repeat Buyer
I love this stuff. We diffuse it all the time to open up the lungs and make the air smell crisp and clean. I also put it in my body spray to soothe my dry skin and smell good.

Like it but
I find it smells pretty strongly when I first start diffusing but dies down rather quickly. Is it the oil? Is it the diffuser? I don't know. But I do love the strong scent it initially puts off.

Can I put this Eucalyptus Globulus in a head tension balm? Just like the Eucalyptus radiata oil the (Usage) description says that the radiata can be put into a massaging balm so I’m wondering if I can do the same with the globulus
Natalie P on May 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You are more than welcome to substitute the Eucalyptus in the recipe with Eucalyptus Globulus. They share similar properties and can be used interchangeably.

Thanks-
