Niaouli (Melaleuca) Essential Oil

Niaouli (Melaleuca) Essential Oil (Melaleuca quinquenervia) is also commonly known as Broad-Leaved Paperbark, Paper Bark Tea Tree, and Punk Tree. Niaouli (Melaleuca) Essential Oil has a medium-strength sharp, slightly sweet, and citrusy aroma presenting a middle fragrance note.

We added Niaouli (Melaleuca) Essential Oil as part of the Rocky Mountain Oils Skin Care and Wellness collections. In addition to use as an astringent for oily skin, Niaouli has multiple practical applications. The oil acts as an insect deterrent. You can also use in the household as a surface cleaner for the bathroom and kitchen, or add a few drops to your laundry to freshen dirty towels and rags.

Tea Tree vs Niaouli (Melaleuca)

• Tea Tree’s aroma is fresh, medicinal, earthy, and herbaceous. Tea Tree is stronger than Niaouli and may not be as suited for sensitive skin. Tea Tree is safe for children 2+ when properly diluted.

• Niaouli’s aroma is sharp, medicinal, slightly sweet, and citrusy. Its scent comes across more sweet and medicinal than Tea Tree’s. Niaouli is more mild than Tea Tree and can be used on more sensitive skin when properly diluted. Niaouli is not recommended for children under 10.

Rest Those Feet Cream

• 10 drops Peppermint
• 7 drops Lemon
• 9 drops Niaouli
• 5 drops Sage
• 4 drops Spruce
• 1 teaspoon FCO
• 2 capsules Evening Primrose Oil
• 1 cup Shea Butter

Melt shea butter and add FCO. Blend in essential oils. Put in container and allow to cool completely. Close lid and label. Massage into feet as needed. 


Invigorating Scalp Massage

• 3 drops Niaouli
• 3 drops Lavender
• 1 drop Rosemary
• 1½  teaspoons Jojoba
• ½ teaspoon Castor Oil

Give yourself a thorough scalp massage.

Kids Safety: Safe to use topically with children 10 years of age and older. Dilute to a 1-2% dilution rate for topical application.

Practice safe diffusing:

- Diffuse in an open, well-ventilated area.

- Keep children out of the direct line of mist.

- Diffuse in 30-60 minute intervals with ample break periods for safe and effective use.
