This is true Cedar Oil NOT the usual Juniper oil
Most people are used to "Southern Red Cedar" oil but that's really a juniper oil and is a great insect repellent. This is a true cedar oil. You have to check the Latin, the scientific name, of the plant origin!

Over the past several months Cedarwood has become my standard oil for use on your wool dryer balls. As much as I detest laundry, I do enjoy the fragrance of Cedarwood wafting through my house.

Great with the Dryer Balls
I decided to get this oil because I wanted something to add to the dryer balls that would not pose a harm to my cats. According to online sources, this oil is not only safe for cats, but can repel adult fleas as well. I now use it on the dryer balls provided by RMO and enjoy the results. I add a few more drops a little more frequently than suggested by the instructions that come with the dryer balls, but the effect is wonderful. There is a very subtle scent of the cedar wood on all of my clothes and sheets, but not to the point of being overwhelming.
As to its impact on fleas, I did not have a problem prior to, so cannot attest to that; however, I do have problem with mites eating at my clothes. While it is too early to say its influence on that nuisance, my hope is that it will alleviate that issue in the near future.

I liked it. Smelled very fresh. Will continue to buy this product once I’m out of it. I’ve been very pleased with Rocky Mountain Oils. The ones I’ve bought I’ll continue to buy. I believe I’m sold.

Is this oil therapeutic grade? Can I add a drop to coconut milk or coconut oil and eat it?
BEST ANSWER: We do not use the term Therapeutic Grade as this is not a regulated term or certification. However, we can always guarantee that our essential oils are 100% pure, natural, authentic and therapeutic essential oils. We work very closely with our sources, whom are experts, to be sure that we are getting the highest quality and purity possible. The farms that produce our essential oils have either gone through the process to become organically certified or the products are harvested in their natural habitats using only 100% pure and natural practices.
Essential oils are very potent and can be dangerous if not used correctly. We cannot provide dosing suggestions or directions on how to ingest if you choose to do so.
If you do choose to ingest the oils, we suggest consulting an Aromatherapist or trusted health professional for guidance.

Cedrus atlantica is endangered in its native habitat, and C. libani is also vulnerable to extinction. What is the source material for this oil? I love the smell of cedar and would like to find an ethically sourced oil, e.g. tree-farm grown and not harvested in the wild.
BEST ANSWER: Great question! Our Cedarwood is not wild harvested. It is sustainably farmed in the USA and Morocco.

Is this safe to diffuse with cats in the house?
BEST ANSWER: Good question! At this time, we have found insufficient research about using essential oils on or around domestic animals, including procedures and possible reactions. Because of this lack of research, we are unable to advise how to use essential oils with pets.
