We always recommend diluting essential oils with a carrier oil like Jojoba Oil when applied topically on the skin.  Benefits of safe dilution include:

  • Increased absorption into the skin

Essential oils are highly volatile substances.  If applied directly to the skin, a portion of the oil will not be absorbed due to evaporation.  Carrier oils prevent essential oils from evaporating while on the skin, which maximizes absorption time.

  • Prevention of skin irritation or sensitivity to the Essential Oil

Depending on your skin sensitivity, you may experience skin irritation when applying essential oils topically.  Proper dilution reduces the likelihood of skin irritation when an oil is used topically.  Continued use of an essential oil that has not been diluted properly can lead to a developed sensitivity to the oil.  Even if an oil is not causing a reaction when applied undiluted, irreversible damage may occur through repeated exposure.

  • Maximizes the effectiveness of the Essential Oil

Essential oils are so pure and potent, they are intended to be diluted.  Contrary to popular belief, using an oil undiluted does not necessarily mean you will receive better results.  Unless you are using an undiluted oil under the supervision of a trained professional, you will receive maximum benefits from an oil if it is diluted appropriately.  You will also get more applications out of one bottle if you dilute the essential oil when applying topically.

Great Product
My skin gets quite dry in the winter, so I have to keep some type of lotion or oil on my face almost 24 hours a day. Since my skin is also sensitive, I have to be careful about what I apply or my skin will have adverse reactions. I've been applying RMO's jojoba morning and night; so far, it's been keeping my skin from drying out. Best of all: no rash, no breakouts, no itching. I'll definitely re-order this oil. (I was also impressed with how fast I received my order.)

Just Right
I was afraid jojoba would be too much for my oily skin but, much to my surprise, it isn't! I'm experimenting with creating my own facial oils using various essential oils I found on your website. I really appreciate the information you provide to us. I'm a novice at this so I appreciate all the information you provide.

I was using another brand of jojoba oil as a daily moisturizer before I tired RMOs jojoba. The quality of this jojoba oil is amazing. It's thicker and lasts longer, I also have seen an improvement in my skin since switching over.

Absorbs quickly
I used Jojoba to make a face lotion using the Baby Skin blend and it is fantastic. It doesn't leave my skin looking or feeling oily but provides excellent protection for our dry and cold climate in Colorado!

Does jojoba oil leave a greasy film after application?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not found jojoba oil to leave a greasy film. When it is first applied, the skin is a little shiny; however, it is readily absorbed and leaves the skin feeling soft and pliable. I have been using Rocky Mountain Skin Care blend and the jojoba oil since April 2017.
Is RMO jojoba oil stored in a glass bottle?
Ginny P on Aug 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: All of the carrier oils come in a high quality BPA Free plastic bottle. Carrier oils do not need to be stored in glass because they are not essential oils and are fatty nut, seed or vegetable based oil. Thanks!
Is this jojoba unscented?
lisa y on Jan 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Jojoba Oil is not unscented. This oils scent is described as a soft pleasing scent.
Thanks! -RMO Team
