Vetiver Essential Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides) is also commonly known as Ruh Khus, Khus, and Bunchgrass Essential Oil. It has an extremely deep earthy, woody, slightly sweet aroma presenting a base fragrance note. Vetiver is a highly viscous oil; warm it in your hand before use.

Included in perfumes and colognes with its slightly earthy yet cool scent, Vetiver Essential Oil is part of the Rocky Mountain Oils Energy and Sleep collections. Vetiver oil is often used in perfumery as a fixative.

Breathe in the scent before bedtime to help achieve a good night’s sleep while inspiring feelings of relaxation.

In skin care applications, Vetiver Essential Oil may have a cooling effect while nourishing the skin. Apply topically before meditation for a grounding, calm effect.

Effective
As a skeptical biomolecular engineering student, I would agree this product produces a noticeable effect when diluted in coconut oil and topically applied over vascular areas such as the wrists. It seems to produce an attentive yet relaxed state of mind, and very little is required to produce the effect.

Vetiver use
I use vetiver mixed with lavendar to help me sleep. I mix equal parts of both into a roll-on bottle and roll the mixture on the bottom of my feet. Works wonders!

Kinda stinky but works!
I personally think this oil smells a bit like an ash tray... very "earthy", I guess... but it does work! I like it because it's grounding - I just put it on my ankles and feet and then I can only smell a little bit of it mixed in with my other oils used on my hand. Then it smells much better. Works quite well and will get more when I get close to running out.

vetiver
it seems to be working for my son, but I'm having a very hard time figuring out how to get a drop out of the bottle. I've stuck toothpicks in the side holes where the oil comes out to widen them and it's not helping. Right now I'm just opening the bottle and gently pouring out a drop, but that makes me very nervous that I'll pour way too much. I also tried dipping a toothpick in and letting a drip fall off on my hand, but it seems like I'm wasting oil on the toothpick every time I do that. How do you recommend using this???

My favorite diffusing oil
I have an in home daycare and diffuse this oil (also lavendar and lemon or citrus combined with the vetiver as the vetiver is very strong so a little goes a long way!) It helps to calm and keep the chidren focused (and myself as well). I suffer from allergies and this oil seems to help keep my sinuses clear. I used a MLM vetiver for over a month and have been using RMO vetiver for the last couple weeks and results are exactly the same and I use less of the RMO vetiver to get the exact same result. Also, always fast/ free shipping, returns, money back guarantee and cost is very reasonable!! Wonderful caring company with high quality oil and oil blends!!

Vetiver wonderful..............
Vetiver has an earthy aroma. When I put it on my pulse points, it is calming - helps me feel as if I have things "all together". Vetiver and lavendar are probably my favorite scents.

I love diffusing Vetiver at bedtime with Lavender and Cedarwood. I'm hoping that RMO's vetiver stands up to the pricier brand I've been purchasing.

OHMYGODILOVEVETIVER. It's like a thick morphological brother to lemongrass, and muskier too. But not in an old-man kind of way. It's a very sophisticated smell to diffuse and for that reason I choose not to go without.

I have never been able to get a single drop to come out of the bottle, please tell me how I can get it to come out? I'd really like to use it!
A shopper on May 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Many components play a part in the viscosity (thickness) of an oil. Because essential oils come from a variety of plants (flowers, leaves, herbs, grasses, tree barks, etc.), they differ in viscosity, scent, and color. Thicker oils typically come from the resin or root of the tree or are extracted with the cold press method. Some oils grow thicker and more potent as they age.

If you’re having problems with your oils dropping from the bottle, here are some quick tips:

1. These droppers also work best when held horizontally (to the side) instead of vertically (upside down).
2. Warm the bottle by holding in hands, placing in a bowl of warm water (to prevent damaging the label put the bottle in a ziplock bag before placing in water)
3. Widen the holes on the orifice reducer with a sterile pin
4. Take the orifice reducer off of the bottle and use a pipette.
