You can even use this wonderful oil to relieve general pain, alleviate symptoms brought on by allergies, calm the skin, combat excess oil, and support healthy hair.

We include Ylang Ylang Essential Oil in the Rocky Mountain Oils Relief, Mood, and Skin Care collections. This oil offers a floral, sweet, herbaceous, and slightly spicy aroma. Diffuse the oil alone or in a blend to help bring harmony to your life, along with feelings of peace. The balancing oil complements meditation and can be used in daily body care products, including soaps and detergents.

What is Ylang Ylang Complete?

The essential oil Ylang Ylang is distilled in “fractions”, which means that the oil is taken off at different stages based on time. The difference in the grades Extra, 1, 2, 3, and Complete are based on the amount of time spent in the distillation process. The different grades do not indicate the quality of the oil—rather, the difference in aroma and constituents. The first fraction extracted is called “extra”, and it requires about two hours of distillation. The aroma is sweeter, more fruity, and contains more esters. The full distillation takes about 15 hours and creates Ylang Ylang Complete, which has a rich, herbaceous aroma and more sesquiterpenes.

YlangYlang
YlangYlang smells just like relaxing spa to me. It is floral but not too strong. I like to diffuse it whenever I am trying to unwind and relax.

Not too impressed
I'm not really getting or feeling the benefits of having this oil, though it has a sweet aroma that's pretty much all it has.

Smells amazing. Great for hair.
Bought because of its value to boost hair health when used in hair products. Use almost exclusively in the jojoba oil that I put on my scalp as part of regular regimen. Also is in a homemade detangler for my kids' hair. Noticed less breakage with my hair.

What are the differences between the Two Ylang Ylangs that you carry?
Tami L on May 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: When Ylang Ylang is first distilled, the first portion extracted is slightly superior in its therapeutic properties and has a unique smell. This first portion we call “extra” only requires two hours of distillation. However, the Ylang Ylang must be distilled longer to extract all the therapeutic components from the plant. The first few hours of the distillation process create the Ylang Ylang Extra while the the full distillation, from six to twenty hours, creates the Ylang Ylang Complete. The final product is a complete distillation of the plant matter.
Why is Extra considered more therapeutic if the Complete is distilled longer to 'extract more of the therapeutic properties'?

Can ylang ylang be mixed with rose blend? How much of each? THANK YOU
Chris on Jan 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes the oils can be mixed. There is not a specific amount of how much you should mix on one versus the other, this will be based on personal preference or if you are following a specific recipe/DIY. Thanks! -RMO Team
