Even though it's diluted, the Blend of Melissa still smells like lemon balm. The aroma is a bit vegetal at first and reminds me a bit of freshly juiced carrot, but it mellows into a faint sweet floral that lingers for awhile. I tried wearing it with a drop of lemon mixed in and it smelled exactly like lemon balm, but adding lemon changed the pleasant lightly floral smell it fades to so I probably won't mix it with anything again. I bought it for it's uplifting qualities and it does seem to lift my spirits as well as relax me.
I've heard good things about Melissa but couldn't justify spending that much on a bottle of the pure oil. When I saw this as I was purchasing something else I decided to give it a try since the cost was more palatable. Essential oils have worked well for me in the past on different issues so I hoped that this one, already diluted, would work if we needed it. My husband decided to try it on his shoulders because we read that it can help relieve tension. The results far surpassed our expectations. He has had issues with his hands going numb due to tightness in his neck and nothing has ever helped. Two days after using the oil twice a day he was able to play piano for over an hour with no numbness. Normally his hands start going numb after only a few minutes playing. Definitely would recommend this oil. The blend is potent enough for all normal needs. It saves you the step of diluting it. Amazing!
Was interested bc it's my name & looks like it's on the high-end of oils (pure version). The scent seems to change the more I smell it. Just smelled it again & it hit me that it reminds me of a still-warm pitcher of sweet tea or maybe the tea bag from when my mom made it in the 80s-90s. I'm not up on how to describe scents, but to me it is a touch earthy & \dark/low-subtly sweet\"."
