Cooking with Ginger Spice Essential Oil

Ginger Spice, our newest Christmas blend, is a sweet and spicy synergy that's perfect for cooking. Made with Orange, Cassia, Balsam of Peru, Ginger Root, and Clove Bud, it has a slightly fruity candy scent that adds an extra kick to your recipes. Try cooking with Ginger Spice essential oil; we're sure It will become a favorite in your kitchen this holiday.

Ginger Spice Cupcakes

Simply add 3-6 drops of Ginger Spice Oil to an Allspice Cake mix and prepare according to the normal directions.  Top with cream cheese frosting and enjoy!

Apple Ginger Spice Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 drops Cinnamon Bark oil
  • 2 drops Ginger Spice oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 TB warm water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter two bread pans. Combine flour, dry spices, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs, essential oils, and vanilla. Stir together soda and 1 tablespoon warm water, and mix into the sugar mixture. Stir in flour mixture and apples until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for approximately 1 hour, or until a tester comes out clean. Leave in the pan until cool. Once cool, shake pan to loosen cake and turn onto a serving platter or plate. For decoration, dust with confectioners' sugar or add a glaze.

Sweet and Spicy Squash Dish

  • 1 pound Butternut Squash
  • 2 ounces Butter
  • 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 6-10 drops Ginger Spice Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked Black Pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare squash by peeling and chopping it into ½ inch cubes, and place them into a 9x13 baking pan. In a microwave safe bowl melt the butter.  Add Ginger Spice Oil, brown sugar, and salt and pepper to taste, and stir the Ginger Spice mixture until it forms a glaze.  Drizzle over the Butternut Squash cubes and toss.  Roast in the preheated oven until squash is tender and lightly browned, 30-40 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
