International Women's Day | Women Who Inspire Us

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

Happy International Women’s Day! Today we honor all of the incredible women we have had the privilege to connect with. All of us here at Rocky Mountain Oils are proud to celebrate the wonderful community of women we have built over the last 17 years. This community is filled with mothers, doctors, teachers, friends, and all-around inspiring women. We are so grateful to get to know all of you remarkable women.

As women, we are often told that we need to fit some kind of mold, that we have to be a certain type of ‘woman’. The truth is, we don’t! There are no rules to womanhood. You get to decide what womanhood is to you and what that looks like. There is no limit to what a woman can be.

For some, womanhood is strength for others, it’s tenderness. Womanhood can be staying home with children or pushing yourself in your career. Womanhood is not defined by the clothes you wear or the job you hold. Womanhood is defined by yourself.

From nurturing families to running the country, we believe that women are the world’s true superheroes! In honor of Women’s History Month, we invite you to join us in celebrating the women in our lives who have empowered us to be who we are today. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate womanhood than by sharing their stories.

Women Who Inspire Us

Robby, our Financial Manager shares his inspiration drawn from Suzanne Ciani. Ciani is a Musical Artist and Producer, but even more so, a Woman Pioneer in the dawn of Modular synthesis (a branch of the EDM musical genre).

“When I first got into synthesis (musical instrument) I was very intimidated. After watching some of her early footage, she made me realize it was OK to just have fun and not be all 'technical' with it. She has gone on to say, she has no idea why something worked but knew it sounded good to her.”

Nyah, our Marketing Manager at RMO shares her inspiration drawn from her Oma, her great grandmother.

"The woman who has inspired me the MOST is my great-grandmother Irene. She grew up on a farm in Canada during the great depression. She went on to business school in her young adult years and was the ONLY woman in her school. She taught me from a young age that it doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, but you have the power to control your destiny. I grew up listening to her stories from working on the farm, going to business school, and being a mother to her firstborn daughter while my grandfather was deployed during WW2. Whenever I would visit she would remind me how it is important for women to find their calling and pursue their dreams. She instilled a sense of confidence and personal power in me that I could be whoever I wanted to be."

Stefanie, our Marketing Assistant at RMO shares her inspiration drawn from her sister, Paula.

"My older sister Paula is a lawyer and she inspires me because she ALWAYS stands up for what's right regardless of anything. She is an insanely strong person. She is also extremely level-headed, regardless of what comes to her, she diffuses situations very eloquently. She's also really funny, and I love her for all these things and more!"

Courtney, our Quality Assurance Manager at RMO shares her inspiration drawn from her mom.

"I have been blessed with the most incredible mom. I've never witnessed strength like the kind I see in my mom. She hasn't always been dealt the kindest hand throughout her life. But she has always persevered. She has been a constant sounding board for almost every decision in my life. Every win, every tear, every struggle, every laugh... She's been there for me through it all. She has taught me to never accept less than what I deserve. She has taught me the value of hard work, and that some of the greatest things in life are worth fighting for. If I’ve learned anything from my mom it's how to be a strong woman. Maybe most importantly... She's taught me that you always have time for a dance party to some Shania Twain. That nothing heals your soul quite like belting out some Janis Joplin. And of course, that being a little goofy and weird is essential. I admire each quality of what makes my mom who she is and am thankful each day for her love and encouragement. I'm lucky to have such a strong tribe of women behind me!"

Stefani, our Social Media Specialist shares her inspiration drawn from her mom, Bonnie.

"My mom is my woman who inspires me! She's super supportive and is the sweetest person you'll ever meet, but she's got a surprisingly strong and resilient side that you wouldn't expect. She taught all 4 of us kids to read and homeschooled us for part of our education; she was an AMAZING teacher. She instilled a love for books in me, and I always had my nose in the latest Harry Potter or A Series of Unfortunate Events. Now she works at the local High School with special needs kids, and she adores each of them and talks about how awesome her students are all the time. If I end up being half the woman she is I'll be proud."
