    Rocky Mountain Oils’ Wintergreen is an excellent oil to use when treating muscle and joint discomforts. It helps with arthritis, rheumatism, and tendonitis. It also helps you heal broken or bruised bones. It is a great aoil to use when treating Tenosynovitis — inflammation of the lining of the sheath that surrounds a tendon.

    It helps you relieve cellulite and edema. It can also help relieve gout.

    History: Native American tribes would chew Wintergreen to improve breathing. They also used used the plant to treat aches and pains, headaches and stomach aches. Early Americans chewed the roots to keep their teeth clean and protect them from decay. A poultice was often made to use on sore muscles and joints, as well as nerve pain. It has often been used as a flavoring in toothpaste, chewing gum, and soft drinks.

  • Applications & Uses

    Blends well with: Oregano, Thyme, Ylang Ylang, Peppermint, Spearmint, Vanilla, and Lavender.


    Ways to use: You will need to blend with a carrier oil before using topically. A general guideline is 4-8 drops in ½ teaspoon of carrier oil for adult topical use. Once you have tried it, you will know if you need to blend more or less. A general guideline for blend rates for children can be found here:  Always test on a nickel sized portion of skin first. Make sure your skin can handle the oil/blend before using.


    Diffuse with Rocky Mountain Oils' Blend of Vanilla and a little Lavender.

    Just use 1-2 drops of the Wintergreen or Birch Bark. Once again, put a couple of drops in a carrier oil and massage area. Put 1-2 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil and massage into inflamed area.

    When treating dandruff, add a few drops to your shampoo and mix well before use.


    Saint Patty's Soap
              • 2 cups Melt and Pour Soap Base
              • 1 bag Spearmint tea
              • 5-6 drops Green Soap Coloring
              • 1 teaspoon Wintergreen oil
              • 1 teaspoon Jojoba

    Melt the soap base in a double boiler. While heating, open bag of tea and grind the leaves with a mortar and pestle. Add leaves to soap base and stir. Pour base into a 4 cup, glass bowl or measuring cup. Stir well while adding color, Jojoba, and Wintergreen oil. When mixed in, pour into shamrock shaped molds and allow to cool. When cool, remove from mold and allow to dry for 24 hours. It’s great to use on sore muscles.


    Minty Fresh

              • 5 drops Wintergreen
              • 3 drops Blend of Vanilla
              • 2 drops Lavender

    Diffuse to brighten the room and freshen the air.
