For the short term.....
I spray when I go outside BUT I stay out as little as possible- it's too hot and humid here. From the aroma I'm sure it will do the job.

Bug Away Essential Oil by Rocky Mountain Oils
I like this mixture because it allows me to mix up a spray bottle with water and drops from only one bottle of essential oil, instead of using multiple ones for a natural bug deterrent. This is ant and spider season here in NE Arizona plus we live amongst the Ponderosa Pines and the bugs love this environment! I’ve mixed up several 8-ounce bottles and sprayed around all the windows and doorways. I have noticed less spider webs on our deck and no spiders inside since I sprayed.....YAY! It works!

I used the recipe on RMO’s website to make some repellant and it works well. I’ve been tackling weeds and overgrowth in our backyard during this humid and wet summer with no bites since using this blend!

Yes to Bug Away
Smell wonderful and works amazing!
Used it to make bug spray, so glad this blend exists so I didn't have to buy each oil individually.

Pleasantly surprised
I used the neat blend to make our natural bug spray and it works great! I used the recipe I found on RMs website. The bugs here are awful, we're very close to the Dismal Swamp so we have tons of mosquitoes, deer flies and yellow flies, which seems to be immune to everything! Works great for the mosquitoes but we do have to reapply frequently to keep the deer and yellow flies away. I don't think most people have to deal with them so this neat bottle should work great under more normal conditions ??
I will definitely purchase again when I need more

is this safe on animals? how much needs to be use on a cat around 16 lbs
BEST ANSWER: At this time, we have found insufficient research about using essential oils on or around domestic animals, including procedures and possible reactions. What does "neat" mean in the blends? In the buy section some oils have the option to be purchased as a blend or neat? Not asking about bug off as all the questions on here pertain to that particular one. Just "neat"
BEST ANSWER: We dilute about half of our blends with FCO because they have luxury oils in them. This helps to keep the price affordable for our customers. The term "neat" means undiluted.

What makes this blend neat?
BEST ANSWER: Bug Away is the NEAT version or "Undiluted" version of our Kids Line blend Bug Away. The Kid Line Roll- On is diluted to a 2%. We introduced the larger NEAT version so it would be used for adults or in sprays :)

Will this work if I put this in a diffuser necklace and wore the necklace instead of spraying it on myself? (I have 2 dogs that love to lick/kiss me and am worried about them licking me if I spray it on myself and getting sick)

Can this be diffused outside?
BEST ANSWER: Hello!
You are able to diffuse the oils outside, however, it may not be as effective if you were to diffuse the oils in a closed area. Please be sure to check the foot coverage of each oil diffuser to make sure how far the distance would be.
Thanks!

If I wanted to use this, after diluting, does it only need to go on a small space on the body, or on any exposed skin?
BEST ANSWER: The Bug Away blend is intended to be used to replace any commercial bug spray. To be sure that there is appropriate coverage and protection, it is suggested to apply to any exposed skin as you would with a commercial bug spray.
