This one doesn't smell awful, but I can't say it's particularly helpful in focusing when I'm at work, if anything the scent is actually distracting and surprisingly strong. So much so in fact I had to change the filter in my diffuser to get rid of it. I wouldn't say it's unpleasant, it just wasn't what I was looking for in an all day "keeping my mind on task" at work sort of scent. I do love RMO blends though and I will keep trying until I find the perfect blend. I'm thinking if I mix this with some lemon and white fir it might tone it down enough for diffusing at home now and then.
Clean, earthy smell. Not diluted with carrier oil. Would rate a solid ‘A’.
Received this blend about 2 weeks ago but am just now diffusing it for the first time. The smell would not be for everyone, as it has a resemblance to that of licorice, though personally I enjoy it. It’s a clean smell, but not overpowering. If applying it topically make sure to dilute with a carrier oil since it is not already diluted. I prefer to dilute blends myself, so this is perfect. Thanks RMO!
I didn't like this particular blend. The scent was too overpowering for me and would make me nauseous whenever I diffused it, so I gave it away to a friend and she absolutely loves it. Nothing wrong with the blend, it just wasn't for me.
I love the way this oil smells when I use it topically or in my diffuser necklace, but when I put it in my regular diffuser, it smells a bit like anise-- which is strange because that's not part of the blend. I really wanted to love it, but I think it's just alright.
My first time to order Focus. Have just opened the bottle to use for diffusing in the study room while my 10 year old does her homework. She loves the Rosemary/Peppermint combination. Used to mix up a similar blend myself but with Focusing it is all ready to use from one single bottle :-)
I am a graduate student and I love diffusing Focusing while I study to get me focused and working. I also have created a roller using the RMO fractionated coconut oil and roll that on when I really need to buckle down, before class when I feel ancy, or even before a big test. I love it!
although I have not opened the new bottle yet, it worked so well to keep me going through hard days with too much to do, I panicked when I ran low - i diffuse it in my kitchen while I'm trying to get it all done and it really works!
I use it mainly when I'm driving -- traffic often heavy here and this helps me focus and concentrate. I attach a small cotton ball to a small wood clothespin and clip the pin on the vent. Double as air freshener =) Hope I can buy USB diffuser from RMO later!
The scent is so stimulating and vibrant! Sometimes I diffuse it in the morning just to help me wake up :) but it is best used as a studying aide. I find I am much more productive when I have this diffusing nearby. The smell is also just lovely. I can't wait to try another blend from RMO!
Grateful for how well this works! Definitely helps me to focus and stay alert. The aroma seems to dissipate quicker (applied directly to skin w/ FCO) than other oils I've used, so I am looking forward to trying it in a diffuser. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you need some mental clarity.
I was surprised at how well the blend worked, I now keep some at my desk at work in a roller bottle and leave the bottle at home for my 17 year old son. The biggest difference was I felt less distracted, which is huge for me. I use it a few times a day and am really, really happy with the results. It's one of my "must have's" now.
My art students love the smell, very clean & sharp. They like to ask me what oils I'm using in the diffuser & the name "Focusing" was a hit, they believe it helps them produce better projects....so be it:)
I diffuse this every morning with either Revitalize or BrainStorm to prepare me for a class that I teach. I also diffuse in the afternoon when I'm working on Choreography and may be blocked, it really opens up my thinking and creativity.
I love it! The scent is much nicer than do terra balance and works like magic. I diffuse and use in lotion on my arms. Usually I'm scatterbrained and try to do too many things at once but it really does make me focus on what I need to do and rarely get too side tracked. I love RMO.
I put a drop on my son's forehead, hairline and base of brain while we wait for the bus in the morning, especially on days when he has a test or quiz. He is in 4th grade and is accustomed to oils for colds, oils for bruises, and diffusing oils throughout the house. I also use it on my temples and forehead and wrists during the afternoon at work to finish off my day's work effectively. I like that it's already blended with a carrier oil. I recommend Focusing if you need to "get up, get focused and get going"! Good product!
This oil should be renamed "Refreshing". It feels like putting a cool cloth on a hot day. It just gives that little bit of extra energy to keep going. I don't think it helps for focusing though, at least not topically. The smell does not last very long.
i have two teenage daughters that are both homeschooled. They get a bit "off track" some days and I use this neat, on their wrists and behind their ears to help them get focused, and getting their work done.
My husband is working on his masters online and it's easy to get distracted from all the hustle and bustle of life and to even just get overwhelmed. He uses Focusing when he sits down to do his work. Loves it.
I've been using Focusing for the past year. I don't know what I would do without it! I use it during lectures, when I'm studying and reading, and when I take my exams. It helps me with concentration and retention of materials.
I have both oils and mostly diffuse them. I think it all goes down to personal preference, in terms of what kind of scent you like best.
When I diffuse the oils, here is a brief description of that I think about their scents: - Focusing has a herbal, minty and fresh scent. It is very pleasant in my opinion. - Attention assist has a more floral scent. I can definitely smell the Vetiver, giving it a deep, woody and slightly sweet scent, but I find it very well balanced with the other oils in the blend.
