Frankincense Essential Oil Uses
Frankincense brings up exotic thoughts of India, sand, incense and perfume. The resin has historically been burned as an incense for many types of ceremonies from the ancient Egyptians 5,000 years ago, to the Catholic church in more recent times. It is also a valuable base for cosmetics and fragrances. The scent has warm, sweet resin notes.
Our Frankincense Essential Oils vary in price because each is a different variety of Frankincense. All three share similar beneficial properties, while the main difference lies in the strength and potency of the properties which are determined by their chemical constituents.
Frankincense, Carterii’s aroma is like the other varieties being balsamic, rich, warm, slightly spicy, sweet, and woody but also has a slightly citrusy top note.
Frankincense, Sacred’s aroma is like the other varieties being balsamic, rich, warm, slightly spicy, sweet, and woody with its sweet woodiness standing out most. Frankincense, Sacred is regarded as the most therapeutic and highly sought-after Frankincense oils in the world.
Frankincense Serrata’s aroma is like the other varieties being balsamic, rich, warm, slightly spicy, sweet, and woody but has more earthy notes.
Many believe Carterii and Serrata are the same because the seeds that are planted are identical. However, depending on the geographical area and climate in which they are grown, combined with the pH level of the soil and other growing factors, the resulting plant is strikingly different. Truly, two distinct species of Frankincense are born from the same seed. All three varieties of Frankincense that we provide allow for a diversity of strength and potency comfortable for varying price points.
