How to Use Myrrh Essential Oil

Myrrh Essential Oil is also commonly known as African Myrrh, Herbal Myrrh, Somali Myrrhor, and Common Myrrh. Myrrh has a medium-strength rich, balsamic, warm, smoky aroma. The oil has a fairly viscous consistency, which makes it a great addition to skin care products and routines.

The Lowdown on Myrrh Essential Oil Myrrh is actually a resin derived from the Commiphora myrrha tree, which thrives in places like the Middle East. To collect the myrrh, the tree is cut and the resin dries along the trunk, after which it’s collected. To create the essential oil, producers steam-distill that resin.

Skin Care Recipes with Myrrh

Perfect Nail Cream

● 4 ½ tablespoons Better Butter

● 1 teaspoon lanolin

● 15 drops Myrrh Essential Oil

Combine Better Butter and Lanolin in a small saucepan. Heat until melted.

Take off the heat, and take off the burner.

Stir in the Myrrh essential oil and stir until all ingredients have been combined.

Store in a cool dark place, in an airtight container. Make sure it is completely cooled before adding the lid.

Rub Onto nails weekly for a soft, silky, glow.

DIY Vapor Rub

● 4 drops Myrrh

● 1 drops Spruce

● 1 tablespoon F.C.O. (fractionated coconut oil)

Mix all ingredients in a small glass bowl.

Rub formula into the chest using slow, clockwise strokes. Inhale deeply for a purifying effect.

Relaxing Foot Soak

● 4 drops Myrrh

● 4 drops Roman Chamomile

● 2 drops Orange

● 2 drops Lavender

● 1 teaspoon Avocado oil

Combine all ingredients in the bottom of a water basin.

Add warm/hot water

Soak feet and enjoy the delicious aroma.

Amazing Moisturizer

● 2 drops German Chamomile

● 2 drops Clary Sage

● 3 drops Myrrh

● 6 drops Frankincense Serratta

● 5 drops Geranium

● 3 drops Blend of Rose

● 1 ounce sweet almond or Jojoba oil

● 2 teaspoons Vitamin E oil

● 1 ounce FCO

Combine oils in a small glass container.

Store formula in a dark colored, glass bottle.

Use on skin before bed.
