Essential Oils for the Season: Winter

It’s time to don your favorite scarves, coats, and fuzzy socks — winter is finally here! For many, the winter season is a time for snowball fights, cheesy Christmas movies, and snuggling up close with those you love most. It’s the season of love and giving, after all!

But while we do love enjoying all those activities above, there’s something truly special about the winter season that just makes it a treat for all the senses. From sweet candy canes to the scent of real pine Christmas trees, our memories are filled with different and unique sensations that arise during the coldest season of the year.

Want to see for yourself? Try including these 5 essential oils that are reminiscent of everything wintertime into your daily routine for an extra burst of cheer during the shorter winter months.

Essential Oils for the Season

A headache or queasy stomach is never fun — especially during the holidays! Help ease uncomfortable feelings of nausea or stress with the wintery-cool scent of Spearmint! Simply add 15-20 drops of Spearmint to an essential oil inhaler, or breathe directly from the bottle for 3 deep breaths to settle your stomach and clear away any lingering head discomfort.

Support healthy and glowing skin during the driest season of the year with the help of Myrrh essential oil. With naturally cooling and hydrating effects on the skin, this essential oil is a great supplement to any skincare routine by evening the skin tone, soothing cracked or chapped patches, and even reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

To use, combine 2 teaspoons of carrier oil with 2-3 drops of Myrrh and apply to clean, dry skin to encourage a youthful glow all winter-long.

Include one of the favorite scents of the season in your nightly relaxation experience with the help of Nutmeg essential oil. Offering a naturally warming sensation when applied topically, this oil is great for DIY massage oils and lotions to help relieve muscle tension and soothe overworked joints.
