Pine Essential Oil Uses
We all associate any pine oil with cleaning. However, there is so much more that you can do with the pine oils.
This article is about Pine essential oil (Pinus nigra) and Pine Needles oil (Pinus sylvestris). Pine has a stronger pine scent to it than Pine Needles (Scots Pine) oil but the uses and properties are the same. So choose which one you want by how strong a scent you want.
Combines Well With
Cedarwood, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Sage, Lavender, Juniper Berry, Lemon, Eucalyptus citriodora, Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus globulus, Marjoram, Bergamot, Cypress, Frankincense
Ways to Use It
- Can be an irritant to sensitive skin. If you want to use topically, patch test first
- Great for household cleaning.
- It's great to use in compresses and massage after overexertion from a workout

Insect Repellent
- 100 drops Geranium
- 50 drops Cedarwood
- 50 drops Bay Leaf
- 50 drops Lime
- 50 drops Pine
- 2 ounces Vodka
- 100 drops Jojoba
To deter insects, spray the mist on the exposed areas of the body before going outdoors. Rub Jojoba oil into the skin prior to spraying the formula. Spray a minimal amount. Avoid misting on the face. Instead, apply the following formula to the face.
Energize Me!
- 2 drops Peppermint
- 2 drops Rosemary
- 7 drops Pine
Add to your diffuser.
Take a deep Breath
Use in your diffuser or vaporizer.
Rejuvenating Foot Bath
- 4 drops Eucalyptus globulus
- 4 drops Pine
- 4 drops Peppermint
- 3 drops Geranium
- 1 teaspoon F.C.O. (Fractionated Coconut Oil)
Fill a basin with warm/hot water and add formula. Soak feet for at least 15 minutes.
